Our client is an offshore engineering company with a global footprint. Their legal team work on USD 100m – 10bn contracts on repair, upgrade, conversion of commodities carriers, floating production storage and offloading system for global O&G and commodities clients. The Singapore legal team work on global contracts and projects and with a team of 8 lawyers + 2 comp sec professionals, they’re seeking to add an additional headcount for this team member to become the “no.2” of the legal function, working alongside a new and highly experienced general counsel who is known for her collaborative and results-oriented approach.

Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal advice, guidelines, and solutions on contracts, negotiations, and resolutions for BIG EPC projects for BIG international clients.
- Ensure legal compliance with all relevant regulations, allowing for sustainable business growth.
- Offer general corporate legal and regulatory advice in areas like loan financing and structuring for USD million and billion dollar deals.
- Draft and amend documents for licensing, engineering, tech solutions, in addition to resolutions, and other legal documents for banking, leases, M&A transactions, IP and data privacy.
- Review, advise on, and support commercial transactions, including contract negotiations, agreements, and various legal documents.
- Manage litigation matters, liaise with external lawyers, and analyze risks involved in legal proceedings.
- Liaise and coordinate with external IP lawyers on intellectual property and patent portfolio matters.
Requirements
- Expertise on marine and offshore industry contracts (EPC/construction legal experience within O&G, offshore marine, ship building, renewables sectors) and agreements ideally at 15-20 PQE level (from private practice or in-house background).
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related discipline.
- Experience in civil and commercial litigation will be handy
- Strong commercial legal acumen and a solution-oriented approach.
- In-depth knowledge of laws applicable to company operations and international business.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
