The Company
Our client is an European HQ engineering MNC, handling transportation infrastructure and software to provide sustainable and time-effective mobility today. This is a brand new (perm) role for a new major project that is being signed off by the company in Malaysia.
Responsibilities
Reporting into the Head of Legal APAC (in Singapore) and the GM of the Malaysia business;
- Support bids in private or public tenders and partnership arrangements in Malaysia and for cross border infrastructure projects.
- Manage contracts during project execution, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and maximizing opportunities.
- Advise internal stakeholders on corporate legal matters.
- Collaborate with bid teams on contract reviews, identifying and mitigating legal risks.
- Support project teams in managing various infrastructure projects, advising on legal rights and obligations.
- Prepare and respond to contractual communications.
- Manage external counsel for legal proceedings when required.
- Handle disputes cases for ongoing contracts
Requirements
- Ideally 5-10 PQE with construction disputes/litigation background in private practice and/or in-house experience handling BIG infrastructure projects
- Sharp legal mind with a solutions-oriented approach.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong drafting skills, and the ability to work independently.
- A passion for learning new things, especially in the industrial technology space.
- Enthusiasm for collaborating with diverse stakeholders across multiple countries.
- Senior stakeholder management with BU leaders and C-level
- Fine to travel occasionally in the region
