The Company
Our client is a US HQ financial institution trading various asset classes, encompassing FI, ETFs, Equities, FX, and Commodities. They also have a separate crypto trading platform with headcount in Singapore. The role will report into an EMEA Counsel in London.
Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Skillfully draft, evaluate, and negotiate a diverse range of contracts, including trading-related agreements, software licenses, data licenses, and various technology agreements. Additionally, handle lease agreements, services agreements, vendor contracts, confidentiality agreements, and other essential commercial contracts.
- Regulatory Oversight: Play a pivotal role in the development and execution of new business initiatives within the digital asset sector, as well as traditional securities and exchanges. Ensure ongoing compliance with evolving legal and regulatory frameworks, collaborating closely with external legal counsel. Stay well-informed about legal developments, especially those pertinent to digital assets.
- Transactional Expertise: Lead and manage the legal aspects of complex transactions, including joint ventures and trading transactions. Provide guidance and counsel to internal business teams throughout all phases of transactions, from initial discussions to documentation and post-execution support. Conduct negotiations with external parties and coordinate efforts with internal subject matter experts and external legal advisors.
- Corporate Governance Support: Assist in the maintenance of entities within the APAC region under our corporate umbrella. This includes crafting intercompany agreements and overseeing corporate governance matters as necessary.
Requirements
- Min 4PQE (Singapore or commonwealth qualified)
- Transactional Acumen: Demonstrate a proven track record in transactional work related to trading, finance, technology, or digital assets, particularly within the APAC region.
- Regulatory Awareness: While not mandatory, familiarity with regulatory issues related to digital assets is considered advantageous.
- Independence and Timeliness: Be comfortable working independently and efficiently managing tasks within tight timelines.
- Effective Communication: Exhibit strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization.
