My client is a leading global distributor in the electronic components space, specializing in integrated circuits (ICs), semiconductors, and passives. The business partners closely with manufacturers and franchise distributors to provide customers with critical parts, market intelligence, and supply chain solutions. With a strong regional presence in Singapore and operations worldwide, it plays a key role in connecting suppliers and customers, driving value through strategic sourcing, supplier development, and procurement expertise.
My client is looking for a seasoned sourcing professional to take on the dual responsibilities of Supplier Development and Regional Purchasing Manager. Based in Singapore, this role focuses on strengthening strategic supplier partnerships for ICs while leading a team of regional Buyers. It combines high-level supplier engagement with hands-on operational purchasing oversight.
The right candidate will build strong ties with key manufacturers and distributors, providing valuable market insights to support Sales and Sourcing. They will also drive purchasing execution, ensuring requisitions are fulfilled effectively to maximize conversion and customer satisfaction.
Supplier Development

Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers and franchise distributors to secure access to products and market intelligence.

Negotiate and collaborate with partners to enhance supplier performance and align with company goals.
Market Intelligence & Reporting

Monitor and report on availability, pricing trends, and industry developments.

Act as a global subject matter expert for assigned products and manufacturers.
Sales Support & Growth

Identify proactive sales opportunities by analyzing pricing, availability, and customer demand.

Advise Sales and Buyers on pricing strategies to drive consistent growth.

Contribute to regular market reports on assigned product lines.
Team & Operations Leadership

Lead and support regional Buyers, setting clear expectations and optimizing requisition “Hit Rate.”

Provide guidance, resolve escalations, manage workloads, and ensure compliance with SOPs.
Training & Development

Deliver training on systems, procurement tools, supplier capabilities, and market dynamics.

Promote continuous improvement through coaching, performance monitoring, and skills development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Sales, Sourcing, and Commodity teams to align strategies and deliver optimal pricing and fulfillment solutions.

At least 5 years of experience in the electronic components industry.

Strong relationships with suppliers and franchise distributors.

Deep knowledge of ICs, semiconductors, and passives (e.g., TI, ADI, On Semi, ST Micro, Broadcom).

Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate market intelligence into strategies, reports, and training.
