About the Company: Our client, a fast-growing player in the payments and fintech space, is looking to appoint a highly analytical and forward-thinking Strategy Specialist to join their team. This role will be instrumental in shaping business strategy, driving growth initiatives, and supporting leadership in navigating a rapidly evolving payments landscape.
The Role: As a Strategy Specialist, you will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to develop insights, evaluate opportunities, and translate strategy into actionable initiatives that drive sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Analysis
- Develop and refine corporate and business unit strategies to support long-term growth and profitability.
- Conduct market research, competitive benchmarking, and industry trend analysis within the payments and fintech ecosystem.
- Build business cases and financial models to assess new initiatives, partnerships, and investment opportunities.
Performance Monitoring & Insights
- Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of strategic initiatives.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to senior management for continuous improvement and decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product, Finance, Operations, and Technology teams to ensure strategic alignment and execution.
- Support leadership with high-quality presentations and reports for board meetings, leadership reviews, and investor updates.
Innovation & Growth Initiatives
- Identify emerging technologies, payment trends, and market opportunities to inform strategic direction.
- Support strategic projects such as market entry assessments, new product launches, and partnership evaluations.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline (MBA is an advantage).
5–6 years of experience in strategy, management consulting, corporate development, or a similar role, ideally within fintech, payments, or financial services. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with solid experience in financial modelling and Excel; exposure to data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and managing multiple priorities concurrently.
