The Company
Our client is a leading provider of high-performance data center services, listed on NASDAQ. The company offers state-of-the-art data center solutions to hyperscale cloud service providers, large internet companies, financial institutions, telecommunications carriers, IT service providers, as well as large private sector and multinational corporations. With over 100 data centers, they are rapidly expanding their international presence, with their international business headquarters based in Singapore, overseeing operations in Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia and expanding into Europe. The Singapore office, serves as the hub for this dynamic and fast-paced expansion. The goal is to IPO the international business in the next 3-4 years.
This is a newly created role reporting to a new hiring manager, with significant interaction with the Legal Director and other senior stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and rapidly growing international business within a leading data center company.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support and advice on project financing transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of project financing and general debt financing agreements and documents.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including the finance, operations, and business development teams, to support project financing initiatives.
- Manage external legal counsel and coordinate with them on various project financing matters.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on developments in project financing laws and regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures to support the company’s project financing activities.
- Support the legal team with corporate governance, compliance, and other general corporate matters as required.
- Provide strategic legal advice to senior management on project financing and related corporate matters.
- Participate in due diligence processes and support M&A transactions as necessary.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 3-4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in project financing or general debt financing, gained in-house or in private practice.
- Strong experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating project financing and debt financing agreements.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Conversational Mandarin would be advantageous.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to provide practical and strategic legal advice.
- Experience in the real estate sector and general corporate matters is a plus.
