About the Company:
Our client is a Technology client that is expanding their presence in Asia. As part of the company’s expansion plan, they are looking to hire for a Head of Data Governance based in Singapore.
The successful candidate will architect the client’s central governance function from the ground up, standardizing metrics, terminology, and accountability models while promoting data literacy at every level of the organization.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of the group-wide data governance framework and operating model.
- Establish and oversee the Data Governance Office, defining roles such as domain owners and data stewards.
- Align data definitions, business metrics, and KPIs across all business units and regions.
- Develop and maintain an enterprise-wide data dictionary and business glossary.
- Define and enforce data quality standards, monitoring data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Implement continuous improvement programs to enhance data governance practices.
- Collaborate with Finance, Risk, IT, Product, Marketing, and Operations to embed governance into processes.
- Facilitate governance councils to address metric discrepancies and align reporting.
- Ensure compliance with data regulations including PDPA, GDPR, and MAS requirements.
- Support audit, regulatory reporting, and risk management activities related to data governance.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Data Management, Computer Science, Business or equivalent with 10 to 15 years of data governance-related leadership within large-scale, complex organizations.
- Demonstrated success in achieving global data alignment and KPI harmonization in matrix environments.
- Familiarity with metadata management, master data management solutions, and BI platforms.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to connect governance initiatives to strategic business outcomes.
- Exceptional stakeholder and change management capabilities.
- Preferred background in Fintech, Banking, Payments, or Trading, with experience navigating regulated data environments.
- Agile and able to work in a fast-paced environment
