About the Company:

Our client, a leading international trading firm, is expanding and seeking an experienced Freight Trader to join their Singapore team. The role centers on the cargo side, driving third-party business development and building strong partnerships with shipowners and brokers across the Pacific markets.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Freight Pricing & Negotiation: Price freight needs, negotiate rates and charter party terms, use FFA/derivatives for hedging and arbitrage, and support global pricing discussions.
• Market Research & Cargo Flows: Gather intelligence from brokers/owners, assess freight levels, and provide insights on grain and bulk commodity flows to global teams.
• Contract Execution & PnL: Ensure timely entry of sales/purchases, monitor voyage execution and contract performance, resolve issues with traders/owners, and maintain compliance with risk, credit, and ethics standards.
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain partnerships with owners, brokers, and third-party accounts to align with in-house flows and create strategic opportunities.

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in dry bulk chartering/freight trading (Handy / Supramax / Panamax desk).
• Strong knowledge of charter parties, FFAs, bunkering, and voyage execution.
• Track record in market research, cargo flows, and rate negotiation.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, 24/7 trading-floor environment with international exposure.
