About the Company:
Our client is a global consumer goods company with a strong international presence and a diverse portfolio of well-known brands. As part of their continued growth in the Asia region, they are seeking a SEA Commercial Controller to be based in Singapore. This is a newly created leadership role reporting to the Head of Finance, Asia, with direct oversight of a regional team and full responsibility for commercial controlling across Southeast Asia.
Role & Resposnsibilities:
- Serve as the key finance business partner to commercial leaders across multiple Southeast Asian markets.
- Lead commercial finance activities including planning, ROI analysis, pricing strategy, and customer profitability reviews.
- Consolidate regional financial performance and lead the budgeting and forecasting process in line with global and regional priorities.
- Provide strategic financial insights on market/category performance to support commercial decision-making and growth initiatives.
- Oversee full P&L management for the Singapore entity, including planning cycles, inventory performance, and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, demand planning, and trade to optimize investments and drive efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, supporting audit processes and internal controls.
- Manage and develop a team of four finance professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous improvement mindset.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- 15 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in commercial finance or FP&A leadership roles.
- Demonstrated experience working across multiple countries in a regional capacity, ideally within consumer products or FMCG.
- Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams and influence senior stakeholders in a matrix environment.
- Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and solving problems.
- Familiarity with IFRS, local statutory requirements, and hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
