About the Company:
My client is a Singapore-based importer, distributor, and processor of frozen and chilled meats, seafood, cheese, and related food products.
The Director of Procurement, Planning & Supply Chain will lead and oversee the end-to-end supply chain operations, encompassing procurement, planning, logistics, and supplier management. This role is responsible for developing and executing integrated strategies that enhance operational efficiency, ensure supply continuity, and support the company’s growth and financial goals.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise across procurement, supply chain management, and strategic planning — paired with strong leadership capabilities to drive cross-functional alignment, resilience, and performance in a fast-paced environment.
- Supply Chain Strategy & Optimization
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies that align with business objectives and market demands.
- Oversee the end-to-end supply chain including procurement, demand/supply planning, logistics, and inventory management.
- Identify and implement process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and digital tools to enhance supply chain efficiency and agility.
- Procurement Management
- Lead all procurement activities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure optimal terms on cost, quality, and delivery.
- Evaluate, onboard, and manage suppliers, ensuring performance standards are met.
- Build strong supplier relationships to support continuity, innovation, and value creation.
- Demand Planning & Forecasting
- Lead robust demand planning processes in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
- Utilize historical data, market trends, and customer inputs to develop accurate demand forecasts.
- Translate forecasts into effective supply and inventory plans to ensure optimal product availability and working capital management.
- Drive the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to align forecasts, address imbalances, and enable informed decision-making.
- Continuously enhance planning tools, systems, and models for greater accuracy and responsiveness.
- Logistics & Inventory Management
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation and distribution.
- Optimize inventory levels to minimize stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
- Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to improve service levels and operational efficiency.
- Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing procurement and supply chain team.
- Establish clear objectives and KPIs, provide coaching and feedback, and drive accountability and performance.
- Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure supply chain practices are compliant with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
- Identify supply chain risks and develop contingency and mitigation plans.
- Ensure business continuity through proactive supplier and logistics risk management.
- Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and present regular reports on supply chain metrics, procurement activities, budgets, and planning performance to senior management.
- Use data-driven insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through the adoption of best practices, automation, and innovation in supply chain processes.
- Stay current on industry trends, supply chain technologies, and market developments.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Procurement, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, or planning roles— preferably within the FMCG or food industry.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing, cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, systems, and best practices.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities across all organizational levels.
- Experience with ERP systems, demand planning tools, and supply chain analytics is highly desirable.
