This role is critical to building a best-in-class installation and maintenance engine that can support rapid growth while maintaining safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Role Purpose
The Installation & Maintenance Operations Leader will own end-to-end execution of all solar installation projects, from post-sale handover through commissioning and close-out. This role is accountable for delivery quality, timelines, safety, cost control, and customer experience.
You will lead and scale a vendor-led installation model, establish strong SOPs and compliance frameworks, and continuously improve productivity and cost efficiency as installation volumes grow. This is a hands-on, site-facing leadership role with high ownership and long-term progression into a broader operations leadership position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation & Project Delivery
- Own the full installation lifecycle across all sold projects, from readiness to commissioning and final sign-off
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to defined quality and safety standards
- Serve as the final escalation point for installation-related customer issues
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to delays, defects, or execution gaps
2. Vendor & Partner Management
- Lead and performance-manage all outsourced installation vendors
- Enforce consistent workmanship, safety, and quality standards across partners
- Run structured vendor reviews covering quality, timelines, safety, cost, and customer feedback
- Negotiate commercial terms, rate cards, and cost improvements
- Drive joint productivity and capacity planning with key vendors
3. SOPs, Process & Continuous Improvement
- Design, document, and refine installation SOPs, checklists, and workflows
- Standardise execution best practices across residential and rooftop project types
- Reduce installation cycle time, rework, and cost through structured improvements
- Implement feedback loops from sales, customers, and vendors into process updates
4. Training & Capability Development
- Build structured onboarding and training programmes for vendor teams
- Ensure all installation partners are certified on internal processes, safety, and quality expectations
- Continuously upskill teams as technologies, designs, and regulations evolve
5. Compliance, Safety & Approvals
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Singapore regulations and authorities (e.g. EMA, SP Group, BCA)
- Own permits, inspections, testing, and commissioning approvals
- Enforce strict safety standards with zero tolerance for unsafe practices
- Maintain audit-ready documentation across all projects
6. Scaling the Installation Engine
- Forecast installation capacity in line with sales growth plans
- Identify, onboard, and ramp new vendors and teams as demand increases
- Ensure sufficient manpower, tools, and capacity without compromising quality
- Build a scalable operating model that balances speed, cost, and customer experience
Success Metrics
- Customer satisfaction (CSAT / NPS) for installation experience
- On-time installation completion rate
- Safety and regulatory compliance performance
- Installation capacity vs. sales pipeline readiness
- Cost efficiency improvements (cost per kWp, productivity, rework reduction)
- Vendor performance, stability, and scalability
Job Requirements:
- 8–12+ years in solar EPC, construction operations, or distributed energy delivery
- Strong background managing outsourced contractors and vendor-led models
- Proven experience scaling operations in a fast-growing environment
- Hands-on familiarity with Singapore’s solar approvals, safety, and compliance landscape
