An innovative leader in its field, our client across diverse markets in Asia, delivering event planning solutions that drive business growth and success. This is a replacement position and due to headcount restrictions, is a 6 month fixed term contract position ideal with immediately available candidates.
Responsibilities
- Legal Advice & Support: Provide accurate and prompt legal advice and support to The Company and its subsidiaries regarding legal agreements, legal risks, and business transactions.
- Strategic Commercial Advice: Use strong business acumen to add value by fronting initial negotiations with external parties, providing commercially feasible solutions to mitigate both commercial and legal risks.
- Legal Research: Conduct legal research on issues raised by Management and stakeholders, keeping abreast of current and new legislative and regulatory developments. Advise Management on the impact of such developments on business operations, recommending strategies and solutions for compliance when necessary.
- External Lawyer Management: Instruct and manage external lawyers as required to defend The Company’s rights in contract settlements, negotiations, and litigation matters.
- Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Draft, review, advise, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and other legal documents such as procurement contracts, sales and purchase agreements, service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, letters of intent, employment agreements, etc.
- Risk Mitigation: Highlight both legal and commercial risks in contracts and propose strategic advice to mitigate potential risks.
- Template Management: Provide support with the review and maintenance of existing template contract documents, and develop new contract templates for new business models where necessary.
Requirements
- Experience: 2-5 years post-qualification experience (PQE) or equivalent. Paralegals and commercial contracts negotiators are welcome.
- Qualifications: No requirement to be Singapore-qualified.
- Skills: Strong due diligence and attention to detail in commercial contract clauses, with a proven ability to contribute to commercial negotiations alongside sales and marketing personnel.
- Industry: No particular industry sector experience required.
- Employment Terms: On client’s payroll, fixed-term employment contract.
- Collaboration: Ability to report into the Head of Legal and work alongside peers in the legal department.
